Local News: Marijuana Seized in Drug Raids
Police authorities confiscated several match boxes containing suspected marijuana leaves in two separate operations in the province.In Calatrava town, PInsp. Ramel T. Sarona led the operation that resulted to the arrest of Rodel Manait, 32, of Sitio Caridad, Brgy. Patun-an for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Manait’s brothers, Bryan and alias Dodong evaded arrest during the said operation and left 2 pieces of match boxes containing suspected dried marijuana leaves estimated at 1.7 grams.
Following search operation led to the recovery of one transparent plastic containing dried marijuana leaves estimated at 11.01 grams inside the shanty owned by alias Doydoy.
Rodel Manait is presently detained at Calatrava Police Station.
Meanwhile, PInsp. Anthony G. Grande, of Kabankalan City arrested Marjun Apostolero, 18, of Malabong, Brgy. Anduluan of Ilog town for illegal drug possession.
Recovered from his possession were; 2 rolled paper containing suspected dried marijuana leaves, 1 folded paper containing suspected marijuana leaves, 1 black-colored shoulder bag, 1 black-colored wallet, cellphone, P482 cash and one Honda XRM 125 black colored with temporary plate number 060405.
The incident took place at Purok 7, Brgy. 1 in Kabankalan City. Apostolero is presently detained for further investigation.*
