Local News: ‘99% of Silay City Motorists Wear Helmet’

In its continuous drive to make the city of Silay safe not only to its citizen, but also to the public, the city police station released some of its significant accomplishments for the month of March. of its significant accom-plishments for the month of March.

There were 3 arrested wanted persons, 5 arrested persons for violating the R.A. 9165, filed 23 cases in court, 20 detainees, 291 confiscated driver’s licenses, 27 im-pounded motor vehicles, 291 TOP’s issued, 45 investigated traffic accidents, 67 apprehended for the violation of R.A. 10054 (Helmet Law).

The current personnel strength of the Silay PNP is 62 PNP personnel and 3 NUP (Non-Uniformed Personnel) for a total strength of 65. The Silay PNP also has 13 motor vehicles wherein 10 are serviceable and 3 are under repair. The current police to population ratio is 1 PNP to 2,073 populace. While the 1st quarter accomplishment of the Silay PNP will be published on "The Sweet Life," the official publication of the city of Silay, in its April issue.* (PR-Jan Michael Estrañero)
