Events: SHFC to Conduct Forum in Silay City
The Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC), chaired by Vice President Jejomar C. Binay, will be conducting a CMP forum dubbed "Ugnayang CMP Tungo sa Maunlad na Buhay" at the Sen. Jose C. Locsin Cultural and Civic Center, Silay City on April 19, 2012 at 8:00 am.
This forum aims to raise interest and awareness on the two housing programs of SHFC, namely, the Community Mortgage Program (CMP) and the Localized Community Mortgage Program (LCMP) which were designed to provide Informal Settler Families (ISFs) in the regions to have access to affordable housing.
Delegates from different local government units will participate in the said forum. Non-government organizations, people’s organization, homeowners associations and other national government agencies will also raise their knowledge on the two housing programs.
To recall, SHFC has earlier approved the accreditation of Silay City local government in LCMP and the granting of the Omnibus Commitment Line worth P7.5 million to four housing projects in the city.
SHFC, a key shelter agency under the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC), has been tasked as lead government agency to undertake social housing programs that will cater to the formal and informal sectors in the low-income bracket.*(PIO-Joanzen D. Dedoroy)
