The processed food sector during its planning workshop last November 2011 identified programs and activities that will facilitate the promotion and

development of the MSMEs in the sector. Key players in the sub-sector of the processed treat would like to Level-up their value-adding activities that hopes to contribute to the growth of the sector this 2012 onwards. Hence, in partnership with the Association of Negros Occidental Food Processors (ANOFP), an Advanced Meat Processing Training (specializing on Sausages) will be held on 19 April 2012.

Our competent trainer will discuss briefly the evolution of gourmet sausages, uses of spices & herbs as preservatives, equipment for sausage making, procedures and food safety guidelines. After the lecture, hands-on/workshop is ensued in the formulation of Pepperoni, Chicken Herbed Sausage Italian Fennel Sausage, Sun Dried Tomato Sausage, Kabansoy and Meat Loaf. The trainer is likewise expected to closely supervise and guide participants during the hands-on/demo session to come-up with quality and uniform output.

With this, an invitation is extended to food processors, livelihood coordinators, academe and any interested participants to attend this training that will be held at T.L.D.C (formerly KADIWA Center), Gatuslao St. Bacolod City. A 1-day training will start at 8:30pm and will end at 5-30pm. A very modest participation fee of Php1,00.00 that would cover the cost of meals (lunch and 2 snacks), training hand-outs and certificate will be charged for each participant. Likewise, prospective participants are advised to bring with them apron, peeler, and any hair restraint to be used during hands-on. For confirmation of attendance, please call our Account Officer, Mr. Romel Amihan, on or before April 17 at tel. nos. 433-0250, 704-2203 or 434-7920.*
