Local News: Man in Conflict with Family Shoots Sister
A resident of Isabela town is being hunted by local police authorities after he allegedly shot his 38-year old sister, Sunday evening inside their house.
Police report said Jennifer dela Cruz Perdon, of Brgy. Cabcab, Isabela was shot on the left portion of her stomach and thigh allegedly inflicted by her older brother, Jeffrey dela Cruz. Investigation revealed that Perdon was shot by her elder brother using an undetermined firearm due to some misunderstanding between family members. The victim was treated at Ilam District Hospital and later transferred to a hospital facility in Bacolod City.
Meanwhile, P Insp. Jason Mangilimutan, police chief led the manhunt operation for possible arrest of the suspect, while investigation is underway.
In another report, a 75-year old father lodged a complaint against his son for losing control after the latter allegedly destroyed a part of their house and burned his father’s belongings, late last week in Moises Padilla.
Dionesio Treinta, of Hacienda Jocson, Brgy. Magallon told police that his son, Jolito, 50, also of the same place ran amuck and destroyed a part of their house using an ax.
He also said that the suspect burned his belongings and threatened to shoot anyone who will attempt to interfere using his spear gun.
Local police authorities with Sangguniang Bayan Jimmy Don Plaza and Brgy. Magallon Capt. Fred Bancaya initiated the negotiation to calm the suspect; however, he pointed the gun and knife against himself.
With this, a responding policeman shot the suspect’s right hand to prevent him from further injuring himself. He sustained a gunshot wound on the right hand and was brought to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) in Bacolod City for treatment.
