Local News: Negros Press Club Website Up Soon, Members Urged to Send Data
The Negros Press Club (NPC) will hold the soft launching of its website www.negrospressclub.com on the first week of April, this year.
The creation of the website is among projects of the NPC aimed at making the club visible in the global community.
MARCH 15, THURSDAY, 12:06 PM, LUZURIAGA-ARANETA STREETS, BACOLOD CITY. Once again, this photo at left shows that the implementation of ordinances in the city also pauses during lunch time and coffee break - if enforced at all. Enforcers can always divide their time, can’t they? Or, are they afraid of the trisikad drivers?* (Arman Toga photo)
It was the idea of the 2011-2012 officers headed by Elmer Ubaldo, which includes the acquisition of wifi connectivity equipment.
Third district Cong. Albee Benitez donated P30,000 for the project, who also donated computers to NPC last year.
The NPC is reminding its members to email by April 1 their latest photo and short article about themselves (or bio-data), to webmaster@ negrospressclub.com, for inclusion in the website.
Once up, the website will include a forum for discussion, history of the club, members’ profiles, email accounts, videos and photos of activities, among others.
CAMPAIGN. The NPC, will also launch its campaign urging the public to take time to read, listen to or watch local news for a well-informed citizenry.
The campaign will include requesting local newspapers, radio and TV stations as well as schools, colleges, universities and various organizations to join the club in this campaign aimed to make Bacolodnons and Negrosanons more aware of events and issues in the community.
On the other hand, the NPC is reminding media practitioners interested to become members to secure an application form at the NPC office.
The application will be reviewed and approved by the Membership Committee and the Board prior to the May, 2012 induction of the 2021-2013 officers lead by president Arman Toga, during which the oath-taking of new members will also be held.*
