Local News: Capitol Employees to Get Additional Bonus

Around 2,300 employees of the Negros Occidental provincial government will receive an additional bonus of P18,000 each starting Thursday, Board Member Salvador Escalante Jr. said.

Escalante, chairman of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) Committee on Finance, said the SP approved in its regular session Wednesday the fund for the workers’ bonuses.

Of the said amount, P15, 000 is for performance bonus and P3,000 for anniversary bonus, he said.

Escalante said the P15,000 is part of P50,000 in bonus and cash incentives the provincial government promised to its employees last December.

The amount of P15,000 is a form of reward for the good performance of the province that made it win the Regional Gawad Pamana ng Lahi 2011 award for exemplary performance in administrative, social, economic and environmental governance just like in 2009 and 2010, Escalante said.

Last month, the Capitol employees had received P35,000 as extra bonus.* (DBDangcalan)
