Two men were wounded in a stabbing incident that took place separately in Toboso and La Castellana towns, over the weekend.

Over in Toboso, Ricky Labajo, 33, of Sitio Alamay, Brgy. Tabun-ac sustained multiple stab wounds on his left lower jaw, neck and mid-rib inflicted allegedly by Nelson Mangubat, a neighbor of the victim who approached Labajo while in a drinking spree with friends and attacked him, using a bladed weapon without provocation. The victim was rushed to Vicente Gustilo District Hospital in Escalante City for medical treatment.

The incident happened at Sitio Curva-Hagnaya, Brgy. Tabun-ac.

Recovered from the crime scene was the 10-inch knife possibly used by the suspect to attack Labajo.

Mangubat remains at-large.

Meanwhile, in La Castella-na town, Larry Loipez, 25, of Hacienda Mansalayao, Brgy. Nato was allegedly stabbed on the left portion of his stomach by Jose Eliza Jr.

He was rushed to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial regional Hospital (CLM-MRH) in Bacolod City for treatment, while the suspect is still subject of a hot pursuit operation.

Follow-up investigation on both cases is underway.* (RRM)
